The "Journal of Geological Remote Sensing (JGRS)" is an open-access scientific journal, published semiannual by "Kerman Graduate University of Advanced Technology" and "Iranian Geological Remote Sensing Society" since 2023. The journal uses the double blinded policy of peer review and follows the principles and criteria of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and complies with the highest ethical standards in accordance with ethical laws. The purpose of JGRS is to present current knowledge and scientific research achievements as well as applied research results in the fields of "Geology and geoscience, Planetary geology, Mineral exploration and mining, Natural hazards, Geotourism, Environmental quality monitoring, Spectroscopic studies, Ecology and soil sciences, Geomorphology and land information, Geographic information system (GIS), Hydrogeology" and to create a forum for scientists, engineers, specialists and students to communicate with each other. At present, the Semiannual Journal of Geological Remote Sensing does not charge a fee for processing articles, including registration, reviewing, editing, and publishing.

Mapping of rock outcrops as a prerequisite for lithogeochemical sampling surveys based on the spatial distribution analysis: an application of ASTER data, southern Iran

Samira Shayganpour; Majid Hashemi Tangestani

Volume 1, Issue 1 , August 2023, Pages 1-20

https://doi.org/10.48306/jgrs.2023.364670.1000

Abstract
Rock outcrops are generally covered by vegetation and the Quaternary deposits, so their enhancement on the satellite imagery can be impeded, and the identification of pixels of rock outcrops be a challenging task for field sampling in lithogeochemical surveys. Therefore, in order to map outcrops of different ...  Read More
